94th ARENA DI VERONA OPERA FESTIVAL [ From category News ] [ Subcategory Arena din Verona ] [ Article date: 2016-05-03 ] [ From city Verona ] [ Country Italia ]   Preparations for the Arena Opera Festival 2016 are underway, with 46 evenings of great Opera. The 94th Arena di Verona Opera Festival opens on 24th June with Carmen, one of the most beloved and applauded titles ever, followed by Aida, La Traviata, Il Trovatore and Turandot, until 28th August. The ballet event Roberto Bolle and Friends will take place on 18th July. Seats in the 1st and 2nd sector stalls are almost sold out for the first two evenings on the bill, confirming the audiences’ positive response to the artistic program which will be presented. Prof. Carlo Fuortes, Special Commissioner of Fondazione Arena di Verona since 18th April, affirms that «the Opera Season will take place regularly. All departments of the Theatre are working for a perfect outcome of the 94th Opera Festival. The current sales flow is particularly positive, and indicates an increase with respect to 2015. It represents a very positive reply by the public demonstrating that attending an opera at the Arena di Verona is an extraordinarily unique experience which spectators do not want to give up».
